Work has begun on disassembly of the team’s Yamaha R6, the easy part in some respects but its also very important to take note and understand the standard anatomy, layout and architecture of the OEM machine.

All chassis geometry will be noted and this will be used as a base setting to start testing with. Often the standard “feel” is lost when building a race bike as so many aftermarket parts are bolted on and it can often dilute many positive aspects of the road based machine.

The plan is to start with chassis and electronics and then move on to the engine tune as it gives the team, if necessary, to test the bike with a totally stock engine.
